The Bacchus
Temple Street

On the corner with Portwall Lane, this corner was occupied for many years by the Swan public house at No.93 with the Bacchus next door at No.92, the Swan disappears from the records around 1882 so presumably the pub in the picture was built about this time. The building looming in the background is the Grosvenor Hotel in Victoria Street.  The Bacchus like much else in the area was bombed in the war.
